Big4 Auditor Changes week ending 05/05/13

Just three companies audited by Big4 firms made changes this week. The most noteworthy was T-Mobile, the 4th largest mobile phone company in the United States.  They recently acquired MetroPCS, who was audited by Deloitte. The deal was structured such that T-Mobile will continue operating under the public company structure of MetroPCS, albeit under the T-Mobile name. T-Mobile wanted to keep PwC as auditor for the entire company, so dismissed Deloitte.

TheStreet, which runs a variety of investor websites, made the move from KPMG to 2nd tier firm BDO. No word on why the change, but maybe TheStreet’s history of net losses has them looking for ways to save a few bucks.

I’m excited about the growth in website traffic here recently at the Big4 Auditor Carousel. Thanks for hopping on and taking a spin.  You can have updates automatically emailed to you by clicking the “Follow” button to the right.
