Big4 Auditor Changes week ending 03/02/13

Again this week, we saw each Big4 audit firm involved in some sort of auditor change.  PwC grabbed PPG Industries from Deloitte through a competitive bid process involving, “four national accounting firms.” PPG had revenues in excess of $15 billion during 2012 and represents a big client win for PwC.

KPMG picked up two clients from E&Y, while losing one to non-Big4 Crowe Horwath. E&Y resigned as auditor of Saba Software, effective upon completion of a restatement.  Restatements are never fun, neither for auditor nor client. In this case, E&Y is going to clean up the mess, then hand off to KPMG.
