Q4 2012 Big4 Auditor Changes Recap

Here’s a recap of the activity chronicled over the last three months here on the Big4 Auditor Carousel.

The KPMG losses went mostly to non-Big4 firms, with Crowe Horwath taking 3 from KPMG.  PwC lost 2 to Deloitte and 2 to BDO.  E&Y 2 to D&T and 2 more to PwC.  And last but not least, all of Deloitte’s losses went to E&Y.

* engagements lost includes instances where auditors were dismissed, as well as when they resigned.

And the gain side roughly mirrors the above.  E&Y picked up 4 from D&T and 2 from BDO. KPMG’s gains came at the expense of smaller rivals including Grant Thornton and BDO. Deloitte picked up 2 each from PwC and E&Y. And finally, PwC took 2 from E&Y and 1 more from a smaller firm.
